Captain – Jack Meehan is one of the Eagles all-time greats and has been named Player of the Game seven times in his career. He holds the school record for tackles in a career (356). In 34 career games he has 356 tackles – an average of 10.4 per game. Jack is the emotional leader of the Eagle defense and has shown his versatility by playing special teams and at fullback in short yardage situations. Meehan shares the Eagle record for tackles in a game (23), and 100-tackle seasons (2) and holds the records for most 10-tackle games (19), and most consecutive games with at least 10 tackles (12). Has five games with at least 15 tackles.

In 2003: Jack has 130 tackles on the season – good for 7th best all-time. Meehan picked up 11 tackles at Mater Dei in Week 10 – the 12th consecutive game in which he has had at least 10. Jack registered 12 tackles vs. Loyola to give him 332 in his career setting a new school record. It was also his 11th consecutive game of at least ten. Meehan rang up 15 more tackles against Servite in Week 8. Meehan collected a team-high 16 tackles at St. John Bosco in Week 7. Jack registered 13 tackles at Bishop Amat. Meehan picked up 11 tackles against Trabuco Hills and earned Defensive Skill Player of the Game honors. Jack registered 14 tackles and rushed twice for nine yards against Fountain Valley. Meehan collected 12 tackles against Long Beach Jordan in Week 3. In that game he also rushed twice for two yards and collected his first two decleater blocks. Jack once again led the team with 12 tackles and recovered a fumble at Redlands in Week 2 and earning Defensive Player of the Game honors. Got off to a great start by collecting a team-high 14 tackles vs. St. Paul in Week 1. Jack also had his first two carries as a fullback and gained three yards including a one-yard scoring plunge in the second quarter.

In 2002: Enjoyed one of the best seasons in Eagle history with 125 total tackles. His 125 total tackles were the 7th best single season total in team history and ranked among the best in Orange County. Jack ended the year with 13 tackles at Esperanza after racking up 15 tackles the week before against Bishop Amat. Registered six tackles against Mater Dei and help keep the Monarchs from crossing midfield until 0:14 left in the game. Jack collected nine tackles at Loyola. Jack record-tying 23 total tackles at Servite playing at middle linebacker in place of the injured Dustin Slinkard. (Mike Farris had set the mark of 23 tackles in 1989). He logged a team-high 14 tackles vs. St. John Bosco to earn Defensive Lineman of the Game honors. He registered five tackles and a fumble recovery at Trabuco Hills in Week 5. Registered 10 tackles at Fountain Valley. Jack logged eight tackles vs. Dorsey. In Week 2, Meehan registered five tackles against Redlands. Jack enjoyed a monster game with a team-high and career-high 17 tackles vs. El Modena in Week 1. It was his third consecutive game with at least nine. Has been named Player of the Game twice (St. John Bosco and Servite).

In 2001, Jack emerged as a defensive force for the Eagles as he set a record for most tackles by a sophomore with 88 to be named to the All-Serra League Team and the Eagles’ Rookie of the Year. Recorded a then career-high 13 tackles vs. Loyola, and added 11 vs. Rialto in Week 11 and nine against Los Al in the CIF quarterfinals. In his first varsity game vs. Ayala in Week 1 he amassed 10 tackles, recovered a fumble and returned an interception 14 yards to earn Defensive Player of the Game honors. In Week 8, he collected eight tackles, intercepted a pass and broke up another to help the team to a 35-17 win over St. John Bosco. Registered six tackles vs. Mater Dei and seven vs. Servite to solidify his All-Serra League selection.

Misc: Earned Player of the Game Honors twice in 2001. Enjoys surfing and playing the guitar. Has a 3.0 GPA. Jack is a member of the Speed and Strength Eagle Clubs. Lists his stop of Loyola’s Chad Slapnicka on third-and-one in the fourth quarter of Santa Margarita’s 21-14 win in 2001 as his greatest thrill.
