Dustin is making a strong push for All-League and Orange County consideration with his play at middle linebacker. Slinkard had 13 tackles, and caught one pass for nine yards vs. St. John Bosco in Week 6. Dustin had eight tackles, an interception and a 26-yard reception at Trabuco Hills in Week 5. He registered 13 tackles, ½ sack and broke up a pass at Fountain Valley in Week 4. Dustin recorded ½ sack and in doing so forced and recovered a fumble at the end of the first half to set up a field goal against Dorsey. He also preserved the Eagles' win by intercepting his first pass on the Eagle 18 with only 0:33 left in the game. In Week 2, Dustin caught one pass for six yards and registered six tackles, a sack and a fumble recovery vs. Redlands. Slinkard made the most of his first defensive start and registered 15 tackles against El Modena in Week 1. Dustin is returning for his third season as the Eagles starting TE, but has seen action at fullback too. His 64 total tackles is one of the highest in Orange County, and his four turnovers lead the team.
In 2001: Dustin caught 14 passes for 145 yards and two scores and added six decleater blocks. Slinkard caught a career-high three passes at Los Alamitos in Week 12 and added two receptions each in the Lakewood, St. John Bosco and Norco games. Had Td receptions of 10 and 6 yards vs. St. John Bosco and Rialto respectively. Earned Offensive Lineman of the Game honors for his efforts vs. Lakewood in Week 3.
In 2000: Dustin caught 3 passes for 24 yards and registered 1.5 decleaters. Caught the go-ahead Td pass against Lakewood.
Misc: Slinkard added 20 pounds during the off-season in anticipation of being a two-way starter in 2002. Dustin was one of the top tight ends at the Nike Combine at USC in May. Has run the 40 in 4.66 and the pro agility in 4.38. Has a 25" vertical jump and bench presses 295 and power cleans 285. He is a member of the 500 and 900 lb, Strength Eagle, Speed Eagle and Power Eagle Clubs.
