At Santa Margarita: Speed Eagle, Iron Eagle, Power Eagle, Strength Eagle, Hartigan's Heroes, 800 pound club and War Eagle member; will be a starter at receiver as well as safety; won the Freshman Coaches Award; has run a 4.2 pro agility, and 4.64 in the 40; benches 275 and squats 385.

John has established himself as a force in the Eagle secondary in his first year as a starter. John collected six tackles at Newport Harbor. Schweitzer now has 42 tackles, 1.5 sacks, a forced fumble, a pass broken up, an interception and one reception for 24 yards on the season. John picked up three tackles and his third career interception against Katella. He had five tackles, 0.5 sacks and a pass broken up vs. Irvine. John had two tackles on defense and a 100% grade at wide receiver at Fountain Valley. John picked up four tackles and a sack at Durango. Schweitzer collected a season and career high nine tackles, and forced a fumble vs. Trabuco Hills

In 1996, John tied for the team lead with 2 interceptions and collected 14 tackles and one sack. Schweitzer also picked up one tackle as a sophomore. John is a member of the Speed, Iron, Power and Strength Eagle, 800-pound and Hartigan’s Heroes clubs. John is also a War Eagle.
