Bobby has been one of the pleasant surprises of the 2001 season as the first year started has made significant contributions in nearly every game to date. The junior has shown great hands and has been able to stretch the defense as well. Bobby leads the team with 43 receptions and 508 yards and has caught at least one pass in every game. His 43 receptions are the eighth best single season total in school history. Whithorne caught three passes in the Rialto, St. John Bosco and Mater Dei Games. Bobby had one of the best games in Eagle history with 12 receptions for 137 yards against Tustin in Week 5. The 12 receptions were tied for the second best in school history.

Misc:
Bobby has a fabulous off-season where he earned a starting position. Whithorne has great hand-eye coordination and outstanding 4.55 speed. Bobby is an Honor Roll student who is also a member of the Speed Eagle and Hartigan's Heroes Clubs. Bobby's older brother Jimmy was a two-year letterman for the Eagles in 1998-99.
