Matt Dlugolecki#18 Senior Matt Dlugolecki: is enjoying a productive and consistent season in 2000. The senior signal caller has completed 87 of 154 passes (56.5%) for 1,225 yards and 16 Tds with only three interceptions. In fact, he has thrown 95 passes in a row without an interception. His 2000 QB rating is at 157.1 is one of the highest in Southern California, and his career interception percentage (1.9%) is by far the lowest in school history. At Servite in Week 10, Matt completed four of seven passes for 100 yards including a key 60 yard TD pass to Brad Slinkard in the third quarter to give the Eagles a two TD lead. He also rushed for his fifth touchdown of the season. Against Mater Dei, Matt completed seven of 10 passes for 111 yards and a touchdown. He also rushed for two key first downs as well as a touchdown in leading his team to a huge win. In Week 8, Matt completed nine of 13 passes for 134 yards and three Tds vs. St. John Bosco to earn Co-Offensive Player of the Game honors. The three Tds tied his career-high. Against Alemany in Week 7, Matt completed 8 of 14 passes for 104 yards and two Tds and added 25 yards rushing in limited action. At Bishop Amat in Week 6, Matt completed 10 of 18 passes for 122 yards and a Td, and added his third rushing Td of the season. In Week 5, he completed 14 of 23 passes for 163 yards and two touchdowns at Tustin. Matt completed six of 11 passes for 181 yards and a career-high three Tds at Norco in Week 4. His 94-yard touchdown pass to Tyler Thompson in that game was one yard short of the school record. "Duke" completed seven of 13 passes for 83 yards and a Td vs. Lakewood and added a two-yard rushing Td as well in an important win. Despite going 9 of 26 vs. Los Alamitos, Matt was on the mark most of the night as eight potential receptions were dropped by his receivers. He also added key eight- and four-yard runs to keep drives alive. The UCLA bound signal caller completed 13 of 19 passes for 190 yards and two scores at Ayala in Week 1 including the game winning Td pass with 6:19 left in the game to erase a 17-point deficit. Matt has earned Offensive Player of the Game honors four times in 2000.

Dlugolecki in 1999: Dlugolecki's rapid development in the summer of 1999 allowed him to have an immediate impact on the team as he started five varsity games in a platoon system with All-American QB Chris Rix (Florida State) and saw action as a QB and WR in three JV games as well. Matt's leadership, work ethic and solid play were critical to the success of a young team which finished with a 6-5 record in their first year in the always tough CIF Southern Section Division I. Completed 33 of 64 passes (51.6%) for 528 yards and three touchdown while posting an impressive 133.1 QB rating. In Week 11, Matt started his first playoff game and finished eight of 12 for 152 yards including an 89-yard pass completion to Donald Wilson - the second longest completion in school history. He became only the third junior QB to start for the Eagles in a playoff game. Against Servite in Week 10, Dlugolecki completed nine of 17 passes for 215 yards and two scores including a 69-yard touchdown pass to Chris Rix. Matt, who earned Offensive Player of the Game honors, also completed two other long passes that were called back due to penalties. Dlugolecki started the Mater Dei game before 17,000 at Edison International Field - the largest crowd ever to see an Eagle game. He earned his first start of the season on the road in Week 2 vs. Carlsbad - the No. 12 team in the state and completed nine of 13 passes for 94 yards and a touchdown, and added a season high 18 yards rushing. In that game, Dlugolecki completed six of nine passes in the fourth quarter in helping rally the team to three scores and in doing so earned Offensive Player of the Game honors.

Dlugolecki in 1998: Matt threw for nearly 500 yards as the No. 2 QB in a primarily running offense and managed a season-long 68-yard touchdown pass against Bishop McDevitt. Matt's team finished 9-3 and advanced to the PIAA Semi-Finals.led the Cumberland Valley freshman team to a 9-0 record. He also suited up for five varsity games.

Dlugolecki Misc: Duke has two of the three longest completions in school history. Matt is 7th on the Eagles all-time passing list with 1,753 yards. He is also 4th in Td passes with 19. Matt has been timed at 4.65 in the 40, and 4.5 in the pro agility. He has been featured in several pre-season features by Tom Lemming, Student Sports, Rivals.com, Prep Star and Super Prep. Dlugolecki is on the honor roll and carries a 3.5 GPA. Matt has given a verbal commitment to UCLA, but has also received scholarship offers from Illinois, Michigan, Pitt, Purdue and Washington State. Dlugolecki is also an accomplished piano player Dlugolecki worked extensively on his skills during this current offseason with former JC National Champion Coach Bill Cunerty, renowned trainer Marv Marinovich and noted NFL speed consultant Kevin McNair.
