Mike enjoyed an outstanding game at Aliso Niguel as he caught five passes for 92 yards and a touchdown. He was also named Special Teams Player of the Game. Mike had two tackles and also scored against Tustin giving him nine receiving scores on the season. At Irvine in Week 9, he caught six passes for a career high 173 yards and a 71-yard touchdown to earn Offensive Player of the Game honors for the fourth time this season. Mike caught an 85-yard touchdown pass from Greg Orlando, rushed once for 3 yards and had a tackle at Newport Harbor in Week 8. O’Gorman caught four passes vs. CdM, but had two potential touchdowns called back due to the officiating. Mike enjoyed a huge game against El Toro as he caught six passes for 116 yards and two touchdowns (five and 55 yards) to help lead the Eagles to victory. His efforts earned him Offensive Player of the Game for the third time this season. O’Gorman collected a career-high eight tackles while playing cornerback, blocked his second PAT of the season and caught two passes against Rancho Bernardo in Week 5. Mike caught four passes for 77 yards and a touchdown at San Clemente. In that game he also blocked his first PAT of the season, and returned a kickoff 36 yards to be named Offensive Skill and Special Teams Player of the Game. O’Gorman had a huge game vs. Carlsbad in Week 2 as he caught a career-high eight passes for 172 yards and an 88-yard touchdown. The 172 yards are the 5th best yardage total in school history, and the 88-yarder was the second longest. His efforts earned him co-Offensive Player of the Game honors and came on the heels of a seven-catch performance vs. Dominguez including the game-winning 4-yard scoring pass from Greg Orlando.

1997: Mike was the starting flanker for all 14 games and managed to catch 17 passes playing opposite two All-CIF wide receivers (John Minardi and Greg Orlando). Mike’s biggest day was against Tustin in the CIF Championship game where he caught a then career high five passes for 127 yards and two touchdowns to help lead the team to a 55-42 win. His efforts earned him Saddleback Valley News’ Player of the Week. Mike caught four passes for 69 yards and returned a blocked punt 26 yards for a touchdown against Newport Harbor in Week 7. As a linebacker, O’Gorman recorded 11 tackles.

1996: O’Gorman played in all 14 games and caught one pass for 11 yards (at St. Augustine). He also recorded 15 tackles and one sack.

Misc: Mike now has three of the six longest touchdown receptions and two of the top five top receiving yardage games in school history. O’Gorman is listed as Superprep’s 8th best prospect in Orange County, and Gridiron Magazines’ 2nd best receiver. Mike has now accounted for 55 of the Eagles’ 119 receptions (46.2%) this season. Mike’s 935 yards and 55 receptions are among the County leaders. O’Gorman worked hard in the off-season cutting down his 40 time to a school record 4.41 seconds. Mike is tied for 4th in career receptions (73) and is 4th in yards (1,321), and 14th in career scoring with 80 points. O’Gorman holds school records in the 40-yard dash with a time of 4.41 and in the medicine ball throw with a toss of 41'. Mike also has a 4.23 pro agility time and registered a 32.8" vertical jump at the Reebok SoCal Combine. O’Gorman has a bench press of 295 and a squat of 395.
