Garrett collected two tackles against Irvine and had six against Aliso Niguel. Thompson picked up six tackles against CdM in Week 7. Garrett moved into fourth place in all-time fumble recoveries as he scooped up his fifth fumble at Dana Hills. The senior captain also registered two tackles. Thompson picked up two tackles against Carlsbad. Thompson collected two tackles and recorded one pass broken up, returned two kickoffs for 54 yards, with a long of 39, and rushed once for 12 yards. Garrett has 29 tackles, a fumble recovery and a pass broken up on the year.

1997: Garrett was named to the All-Sea View League Team after leading the team with 12 passes broken up and finishing seventh on the team with 38 tackles. Thompson also recovered two fumbles and was named Player of the Game three times. Against Newport Harbor in the CIF playoffs, Garrett registered a season-high three passes broken up. Garrett caught one pass for nine yards against El Toro. Thompson was the Eagles main kickoff returner as he returned 17 kicks for 428 yards (25.3 average) and posted a 57-yard and a career long 63-yard return against Servite in Week 12.

1996: Thompson recorded 27 tackles, two fumble recoveries and intercepted one pass.

Misc: Thompson is rated as one of the top defensive backs in the County according to Gridiron Magazine. He is the older brother of Rover/RB Tyler Thompson. Garrett has a knack for finding fumbles as he is fourth in career fumble recoveries with five. He has posted a 4.55 40 and a 4.30 pro agility time, and was a member of the Eagles’ CIF Division II Champion 4 x 100 relay team. Thompson recorded the second best 400-meter time in Orange County this spring with a time of 49.50. Garrett carries a 3.43 GPA.
