| Tonight’s game will be broadcast on the Internet only by the Sports Radio Team KWRM AM 1370. With a win the Eagles finish in 2nd place in the Serra League. They are already eligible for consideration of an at-large berth in the playoffs which begin next week. This is the 11th game between Santa Margarita and the Servite Friars and the fifth at Saddleback College. The Eagles have played the Friars more often than any other team. Last year, Jon Daniels completed 21 of 28 passes for 225 yards, Omar Villamar ran for two scores and Jonathan Castillo picked up a career-high 16 tackles as the Eagles rebounded from three consecutive heartbreaking losses to defeat Servite 25-20. In 2003, Mike Fowle connected on a 36-yard field goal with no time remaining to give Santa Margarita a thrilling 20-17 come from behind victory over the Servite Friars. In 2002, The Friars pounded out 346 yards rushing in handing the Eagles a 35-20 setback. Jack Meehan (23 tackles) stood out for the Eagles. In 2001, Eagle kicker Jason Graban tied a school record with three field goals, but Mike Lawrence’s 30-yard field goal with 0:09 left gave the Friars a 16-16 tie at Saddleback College. With the tie the Eagles were able to capture their second consecutive Serra League Championship. In 2000, the Eagles defeated the Friars 41-26 to capture their first Serra League Championship. Tyler Thompson rushed for a career-high 258 yards on a school-record 35 carries and three touchdowns to cement his claim as the Serra League MVP, while backfield mate Ashton White added 160 yards of his own to help the Eagles finish with a season-high 419 rushing yards and 519 total yards overall.
