Game 2 - Redlands Terriers
| EAGLES 35, REDLANDS 0 (REDLANDS, Sept. 19, 2003) Chris Ramsey rushed for 117 yards and two scores, QB Michael Angelo passed for two touchdowns and Ryan Nienhuis returned a punt for a school-record 84-yard touchdown to lead Santa Margarita to a convincing 35-0 win over the Redlands Terriers (0-2) before a crowd of 4,500 at the University of Redlands. Although the Eagles gained a season-high 377 yards and 19 first downs the defense also put on a remarkable show as it limited the Terrier’s wing-T attack to a mere 76 yards and only four first downs with 25 of those yards coming on the last play of the game. On the Eagles second series they marched 80 yards on nine plays with Ramsey gaining 72 yards and scoring from two yards out at the 4:52 mark to make it 7-0. After a missed field goal on the Eagles next possession Nienhuis weaved his way through traffic for his 84-yard score with 8:25 left in the half to make it 14-0. After Jack Meehan recovered a fumble at the 10:50 mark of the third quarter the Eagles needed only five plays to make it 21-0 as Ramsey scored from three yards out. Two possessions later Angelo (11 of 17 for 99 yards) hit Jason Graban for a four-yard score and on their next drive he found Thomas Ramirez on another four-yard scoring toss to close out the scoring. The Eagle defense registered four sacks and held the Terriers to 60 yards on 34 carries, three pass completions and only one play longer than 10 yards all night. They also extended their streak to 13 consecutive games without allowing a touchdown pass.
