The Eagles will compete in the CIF Playoffs for the 14th time in 15 seasons and ninth in a row. They have gone 9-4 in previous Round 1 games and 1-3 in Round 1 since joining Division I in 1999.

This is the fourth meeting between Los Al and Santa Margarita, and the second time they’ve met in the playoffs. The Griffins lead the series 2-1. Complete recaps of all prior contests are included herein.

Los Al finished the regular season 9-1 and tied for first in the Sunset League. They are ranked 2nd in Division I, 3rd in Orange County, 7th in Southern California and 11th in the nation per USA Today. They are led by John Barnes who is 228-71-2 (.787) in his 25-year career.

The Eagles are ranked 6th in CIF-SS Division I, 9th in Orange County, and 24th in Southern California per the Los Angeles Times.
