Santa Margarita struggled offensively all night and managed only 231 yards of total offense. The bright spots for the Eagles were the play of junior QB Matt Dlugolecki who completed 9-13 passes for 94 yards including five-yard touchdown to senior WR Dustin Creager, and a dazzling 72-yard touchdown run by senior QB Chris Rix on a quarterback draw in the third quarter. Defensively, Jimmy Whithorne and Matt Szkalak recorded 11 tackles each. Junior David Doomey tied an Eagle record with two field goals in a game hitting from 33 and 40 yards out. |
