Eagles vs. CdM Sea Kings
| Game 5 Corona del Mar 14 - Eagles 7 The Sea Kings took advantage of the miscues and went 80 yards late in the fourth quarter to win, 14-7. The drive was aided by three Eagle penalties before Aaron Perlmutter scored on a three-yard run. On the previous drive it looked like the Eagles would put away the Sea Kings, but a costly penalty nullified a nine-yard touchdown pass from Derek Yankoff to Brian Finneran. As a result of the penalty, SM was forced to try a 40-yard field goal by Ryan Korinke which went wide. The Eagles started on fire and scored on its first possession. Yankoff found Brian Finneran over the middle for a 13-yard score. Corona del Mar scored at the end of the half on a one-yard run by J.R. Walz, but the PAT pass failed, leaving the Eagles ahead, 7-6. The loss left the Eagles a game behind Irvine and Newport Harbor in the Sea View race. "This is a team we should have beaten," Coach Jim Hartigan said. "That's what I am concerned about. This is a team that could take our playoff spot or win the league championship now."
