Eagles 44 – MLK Wolves 14 - September 24th, 2016

The Eagles (4-1) beat the ML King Wolves (1-4) in a non-league game at MLK. The Eagles started the game with a safety by DE Malik McClain 6 seconds into the game. The fastest score in school history. RB Chad Magyar rushed 18 times for 147 yards and scored 3TDs. QB Richard Wagner was 13 for 18 for 161 yards. DL Alex Kilander finished with 3 solo tackles, 10 assisted tackles, 1 TFL and 0.5 sacks. Malone Mataele set a school record returning two punt returns for TDs. He also set the record for most Punt Return yardage in a game with 107 yards. Watch Highlights

Grant Calcaterra selected to 2017 Under Armor All-American Game - September 21st, 2016

Senior Grant Calcaterra was selected to the 2017 Under Armour All-American game to be played live on ESPN on January 1st, 2017 from Orlando, Florida. Calcaterra, a 6’4” 215 pound wide receiver verbally committed to the University of Oklahoma earlier this year to play for Coach Bob Stoops’ Sooners and will compete in the Big 12 Conference. Grant is currently leading the Trinity League in receiving yards with 412 yards, which ranks him sixth in the county. In addition to excelling on the football field, Grant also excels in the classroom as he maintains a 3.64 GPA. Read More

Eagles 49 – Westlake 8 - September 16th, 2016

The Eagles (3-1) scored 42 points in the first half to beat the Warriors (1-3) in a non-league game at Saddleback College. The Eagles offense ran for 257 yards and 7 Touchdowns. QB Richard Wagner was 13/16 for 132 yards. WR Grant Calcaterra caught 5 passes for 58 yards. RB Chad Magyar and QB Richard Wagner both contributed 2 rushing TDs. More information coming soon.

Eagles 48 – Alemany Warriors 35 - September 10th, 2016

The Eagles (2-1) win their second game of the season against the Bishop Alemany Warriors. QB Robert Wagner was 15/23 for 184 yards and 2TD passes. WR Grant Calcaterra caught 5 passes for 44 yards and 1 TD. RB Trey Green rushed 29 times for 240 yards and 2 TDs. DB Joseph Canty recovered a fumble in the endzone for a defensive TD. Eagles 37 – Loyola Cubs 7 - September 2nd, 2016

The Eagles (1-1) win their first game of the season under new coach Rich Fisher. Offensively QB Richard Wagner was 22/30 for 397 yards passing and 3TDs passing. WR Grant Calcaterra caught 14 passes for 292 yards and 3TDs tying a school record for TDs in a game. RB Trey Green contributed 107 yards rushing on 18 carries with 1 TD. Eagles 21 – Mission Viejo Diablos 48 - August 22nd, 2016

The Eagles open the season losing to the #2 ranked Mission Viejo Diablos 48-21. WR Mark Eaton had 2 catches for 72 yards. WR Grant Calcaterra had 7 receptions for 33 yards. On Defense LB Sean Toohey racked up 11 Tackles. LB Caden Fitchs and LB Jordan Digravio also contributed 10 tackles each. Costello wins 2016 Zug Cup Award - April 30th, 2016

KJ Costello won the 2016 First Friday Friars Zug Cup award, an award that honors a student-athlete who displays excellence in community service, academic and on the field. This is the 9th time an Eagle has won the award. Read More

New Head Coach Rich Fisher - January 22nd, 2016

Santa Margarita Catholic High School announces today the selection of Richard Fisher as the school’s Head Varsity Football Coach. Fisher comes to Santa Margarita Catholic High School from the University of Nebraska, where he has served as a wide receivers coach since 2011. Prior to the University of Nebraska, Fisher was the Head Football Coach at The Rivers School, an independent coeducational preparatory school in Weston Massachusetts from 2008-2011. At Rivers, Fisher led the Red Wings to their first undefeated season since 1915 and the first Independent School League Championship and Bowl appearance in school history.Official Announcement | OC Register
