John Minardi - University of Colorado

John MinardiJohn is a 1997 Graduate and was the CIF-SS Division VI Defensive MVP his senior year while leading the Eagles to an undefeated 14-0 season. As a Senior, John was the league's defensive MVP, CIF Div. V Defensive MVP, All-CIF SS, and played in the California - Texas Shrine game. John is one of only 6 Eagles to have his Jersey retired. John was recently voted as the top All-Around Football player in Santa Margarita Football history on a website poll.

John received a full scholarship to the University of Colorado. In 2000, John won the Bill McCartney Award (Special Teams Achievement) for Colorado. In his career he also won the John Wooten Award and Fred Casottie Awards at Colorado. As a senior John was honored as a Team Captain for the Buffaloes. He finished his career with 79 catches for 971 yards and 6 TDs averaging 12.3 yards per catch. His 79 catches ranks him #35 on the Colorado All-Time Receptions list. His 971 yards ranks him #35 on the Colorado All-Time Receiving Yards list. His 24 Special Teams tackles (15 solo, 9 asst) ranks him #15 on the Colorado All-Time Special Teams Tackles list. His 153 yards (9 catches) vs Oklahoma State on Oct. 28, 2000 ranks him #41 on the top receiving games in Colorado history.

John signed a free agent contract with the Houston Texans.
